Here is an APV Two Effect evaporator, with Alloy 20 vapor vessels and ducting and with Titanium heat exchanger surfaces (plates) in the 1st effect and Carpenter 20 heat exchanger surfaces (plates) in the two heat exchangers that comprise the 2nd effect. The feed preheater is a heat exchanger with Incolloy 825 plates. This system is equipped with a plate type finisher (Paravap) that has Hastelloy plates. All product contact pumps are Alloy 20. It has a dual TVR's system that will give this system about 3 to 1 economy. The dual TVR system will allow this evaporator to be easily turned down to lower feed and evaporation rates while maintaining efficiency. It can be configured to run 20,000 lbs/hr or more of evaporation, or can be configured for much less lbs/hr. Schmidt 30,000 5-effect plate evaporator with TVR and essence recovery, this system was designed to remove 30,000 pounds of water per hour. The former owners calculated that this system removed 6.5 to 7 pounds of water per pound of steam used. This system originally ran orange juice concentrating from 20 to 65 brix and concentrating lemon juice from 20 to 65 brix. The essence recovery system produced 100-fold essence, and was scored excellent in flavor and aroma.
This evaporation system is capable of running many types of products with minimal or no modification. This evaporator was built in Germany and tested on the factory site, unbolted, disassembled, containerized, shipped to the USA and installed on site. The system has been carefully matched marked and color coded at all connections and then carefully disassembled without the use of a cutting torch or cut off saws. It is ready for immediate reassembly. It does nor requires any structural foundation, only a level concrete floor, minimum of 4 ft. thick. It requires about a 15 ft. x 50 ft. area of floor space. This is really a nice modular system in excellent condition. It could be up and running in two weeks after arrival at a new owners site. This unit originally cost well over $ 1,000,000.

The unit is complete with SiHi vacuum pump, stainless steel centrifugal product pumps, and unitized on common base with piping and controls. There is 1.5 sq. meters of tube surface in the surface condenser, 1.38 sq meters in the first effect, .92 sq. meters in the 2nd effect, and .46 sq. meters in the 3rd effect. All product contact surfaces are food grade polished 316 SS. This complete system would make an ideal test evaporator, a pilot plant evaporation system or an evaporation system to do small quantities of highly valuable product. All it needs to run is to be hooked up to a low-pressure steam source (30 psig), a power supply (440 volts) and a water supply (approx 20 gpm total).
All equipment is mounted on a SS skid. Overall dimensions: 9 ft. 8 in. L x 7 ft. W x 8 ft. 4 in. H.

This small, complete evaporating system was designed to run high brix sugar solutions for feed and concentrating the final product to higher brix. It uses APVs Paravap design concept which can handle very high viscosity feed and concentrate streams. This system can concentrate sugar solutions to over 85 Brix. It is a complete system including an MCC and a control panel. All that is required is to hook up the utilities ( electrical, steam, cooling water, potable water and instrument air) and the feed and concentrate lines. It could be up and running within one or two days after arrival at your facility.

Dover Groen Concentrator Model E 372. This evaporator should remove 450 pounds of water per hour as it is presently set up. The vapor vessel is set up to handle one more jacketed tubular heat exchanger which would increase the water evaporation rate to 600 pounds per hour and should be able to accomodate one more that would increase the water evaporation rate to 750 pounds per hour.
